Drama: The Man Who Came To Dinner

The Man Who Came to Dinner 7:30 p.m., Nov. 12-14 and Nov. 19-21 and 2 p.m., Nov. 15, by George S. Kaufman and Moss Hart, performed at the Black Box Theatre in Mukilteo Hall. The Nov. 19 performance will be ASL interpreted. $9 General Admission and $6 Students/Seniors
A cranky critic with a broken hip, convicts, penguins, a backstabbing actress, cockroaches, a romantic reporter, and a sincere secretary: this classic from the late 30s is wickedly funny and still fresh.
Between The Lines Release Party

Celebrate the release of the 2009 edition of the college’s art and literary journal, Between the Lines, in the Black Box Theatre. Join us at 3 p.m. for a reading and art show. Students, get a free copy of the journal! Then, at 7:30 p.m., the journal hosts a panel discussion with community artists on the value of art and artists in a down market economy as part of the college’s Conversations in the Humanities series.
Join the editorial staff!
Those interested in participating in the experience of designing, editing, and publishing a literary journal may also join the editorial staff of Between the Lines by enrolling the college’s Publications class, Humanities 235. The five-credit class will meet 12:30-1:30 p.m., Monday and Wednesdays, as well as online, January 4 through March 19. Credits earned may count toward a two-year transfer degree at the college or the class may be taken as an elective.

Music: Jazz Band At Tula's

Edmonds Community College's award-winning jazz band performs at Tula's Restaurant and Nightclub, the hot spot for Seattle jazz. Tula's features top jazz artists seven nights a week and serves Mediterranean and American cuisine. Jazz band director John Sanders studied under legendary jazz educators Dave Barduhn and John Moawad. He works regularly as a jazz pianist in the Seattle area.

Symphonic Choir Holiday Concert

Symphonic Choir Holiday Concert - “Yule Fest”, directed by Kirk Marcy. The concert will include both traditional and contemporary carols, motets, holiday favorites, and a special performance of John Rutter’s ‘Gloria,' performed with organ, brass, and percussion.
Suggested donation $7 adults, $5 seniors. Any student with ID is admitted free. All proceeds benefit Edmonds Community College Music Department Scholarships.

Last Day To View Fall Art Exhibit: Marita Dingus

Today is the last day to view local artist Marita Dingus' mixed media installation, Buddha as an African Enslaved, o campus. Created out of discarded materials from the African diaspora Dingus' art, exhibited in many regional museums and corporate collections, shows people’s ability not only to survive, but to prosper, under dire circumstances.

Nickel and Dimed by Joan Holden is based on the book by Barbara Ehrenreich — a provocative, humorous, autobiographical odyssey of survival on minimum wage in today’s America.
Martin Luther King Jr. Event: Arthur Romano

Arthur Romano, certified nonviolence trainer and accomplished international educator, presents this year's lecture in honor of Martin Luther King Jr., “Call to Conscience: Martin Luther King Jr’s Message of Nonviolence Today." Romano has worked globally to challenge violence and promote peace. He will speak on campus in the Black Box Theatre and again for the MLK City Wide Celebration, 7-9 p.m., Wed., Jan. 14 at the Lynnwood Convention Center.
